Civic Dispensaries To Treat Lifestyle Diseases Using Ayurvedic Medicines

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to equip its dispensaries for treatment of lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cancer and mental health. A senior civic health official said, "We have decided to concentrate on lifestyle diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cancer and mental disorders as they are on the verge of becoming a public health concern. The plans of including Ayurveda are also in the pipeline." "The civic body has 162 civic dispensaries and equal number of health posts in the city. These dispensaries will continue to offer multi-purpose treatment.
